About Us

Mark is the owner and principal engineer of Carl Design & Engineering. He earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Florida in Gainesville. The initial ten years of his career were spent working as a Stress and Structures Engineer in the Aerospace Industry, focusing on finite element analysis (FEA) for both metallic and composite structures. Since moving to Denver nine years ago, Mark has worked as the lead design engineer for numerous consumer product, medical device, and automation design projects. He has been responsible for complete product development from definition of requirements thru design, prototype, and production.

Jeff is a talented Design Engineer with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech. Jeff worked for Desktop Factory in California and Ascendant Engineering Solutions in Texas before joining Carl Design & Engineering in 2007. His strong mechanical aptitude and passion for cutting-edge technology has made him a valuable asset. Since he joined the company, he has been responsible for providing engineering analysis, design, documentation, and R&D services to multiple Front Range clients. His projects have included working with glass fiber production equipment, medical devices, and high performance motorcycle engines.

Christina started working with Carl Design & Engineering in 2006. She is a skilled Designer and Detailer with expertise in SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Pro/E, and AutoCAD. She has worked on a diverse range of products including mining equipment, medical devices, custom play equipment structures, data storage units, and industrial machinery. Christina has also worked for Orica, Lockheed Martin, Koala Play Group, Quantum Corporation, and John Deere.

Curtis is our resident electro-mechanical expert and Engineering Technician. With his meticulous eye for detail, he provides valuable assistance with quality control, inspecting processes, and conducting tests. Prior to joining Carl Design & Engineering, Curtis worked for Desktop Factory and the Center for Advanced Computing Research in California. He studied Astrophysics, Engineering, and Computer Science at Caltech.

Jake is the newest addition to the Carl Design & Engineering team. He holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont and a B.S. from the Michigan Technological University. Jake's prior educational and work experience encompasses a wide range of subjects including finite element analysis, thermodynamics, biomedical instumentation and systems, and direct experience with medical devices in surgical and clinical procedures.

Maria has been working with Carl Design & Engineering since it's inception. She is responsible for day-to-day office management as well as business financial operations, including payroll, billing, and accounting. She holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Maria has also worked as an engineer in the Defense and Information Technology industries.
